Manchester United  have sacked  José Mourinho  after the club suffered an embarrassing 3 - 1 defeat to  Liverpool  on Sunday. A statement from the club said: "Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future. "A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager. '' Mourinho who was made manager in May 2016 leaves the club in sixth place in the table having already lost five times in 17 matches, leaving them 19 points behind leaders Liverpool.

A rare bird believed to be owned by the University of Helsinki, Finland, was caught in Jigawa state, Nigeria. The bird, known as the Western Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus), a rare creature in Nigeria, was reportedly caught on Thursday, October 25th, at Malam Madori, Jigawa State. Those who caught the bird said a ring bearing some information was spotted on one of its legs. It stated that it was owned by the University of Helsinki, Finland. The bird was eventually released to fly away at the Baturiya Wetland Reserve in Jigawa. Abubakar S. Ringim, a graduate of Zoology, wrote on Facebook: Osprey Pandion halietus caught on 25/10/2018 at Malam Madori, Jigawa. The bird came from University of Helsinki, Finland. Available records from the University revealed that the bird was ringed 106 days prior to its caught in Jigawa, and covered 5808 kilometers during it's migration to winter in Africa, in particular, Nigeria. Donald Trump plans to revoke the birthright citizenship which allows children of non-citizens and illegal immigrants born in the US to become automatic citizens. The US President referred to the law as "ridiculous" during an interview for Axios on HBO and said he wants to sign an executive order ending birthright citizenship. Trump has always criticized the so-called "anchor babies" and now that he is president, he plans to do something about it. He said: We're the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States... with all of those benefits. It's ridiculous. Kanye West,  who has been heavily criticized for supporting   President Donald Trump , has now announced he's distancing himself from Politics while admitting he has been used to spread messages he doesn't believe in. The rapper made the shocking announcement on Twitter on Tuesday, and also revealed that he's now focusing on being creative. The announcement comes after the father of three debuted a line of apparel for the "Blexit" campaign that encouraged African-American voters to abandon the Democratic Party.  In one of the tweets today, Kanye denied any real connection to “Blexit” merchandise, saying :"I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine." The 2018 Nobel Prize for Physics has been awarded to a woman for the first time in 55 years. Donna Strickland, from Canada, is only the third woman in history to win the award, along with Marie Curie, who won in 1903, and Maria Goeppert-Mayer, who was awarded the prize in 1963. Dr Strickland shares this year's prize with Arthur Ashkin, from the US, and Gerard Mourou, from France. Dr Strickland said on a phone call to the press conference: We need to celebrate women physicists because we’re out there, and hopefully in time it’ll start to move forward at a faster rate. I’m honoured to be one of those women. An Igbo man in the UK received the shock of his life when an old white lady came up to him to speak fluent Igbo to him. During their conversation, he made an interesting discovery about her. Uche Anyanwagu said the lady, whose name he later discovered is Nkechi Rosalind Colwell, tapped him, then asked him for his state of origin in fluent Igbo. When he replied, she told him she worked in his state, Abia state. The rest of her story gets even more interesting as you read. Former United Nations Secretary-General,  Kofi Annan  has died. According to Ghanaian media, he died in Switzerland, this morning August 18th after a brief illness. Mr. Annan was the 7th Secretary-General of the United Nations. Born in Kumasi on April 8, 1938, Annan was UN secretary General from January 1997 to December 2006. Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize

Chilling photos showing ISIS Jihadists laughing as the made the bombs used for last year's deadly Barcelona attack has emerged. The previously unseen pictures were reportedly leaked from the Spanish police investigation into the terror attack that left 16 people dead. In the photos, the terrorists can be seen in a room manufacturing up to 500kg of explosives - known as the Mother of Satan - in the city of Alcanar. Police say the bombs were packed into pillowcases along with homemade grenades and a suicide vest, but, fortunately, they exploded before they could be used. The group was prompted to switch tactics after the explosion in Alcanar on August 16 and instead launched a van attack on Las Ramblas the next day, killing 13 and injuring more than 100. A man was stabbed to death the same day and his car was used to ram a police barricade. The following day, another car attack was carried out in Cambrils, which left one woman dead...

A team of surgical staff got suspended for taking selfies mid-operation and posting them on social media. The group of medical professionals, including the surgeon, anaesthesiologist, two surgical assistants and a surgical nurse, work at the Hospital San Jose de Capilla del Senor in Argentina.   The images were taken during an operation and shared on the social media account of one of the surgeons, Lorena Olguin , who works in the gastroenterology area of the hospital. The photos show the medical team looking at the camera with their surgical masks and gowns on.   One of them shows three of them standing over the patient lying on the operating table, and another with the whole team showing the equipment used in the surgery and bits of gauze with blood on it.
